Choosing a custom uniform manufacturer is mostly about reducing risk: the risk of late delivery, wrong sizes, poor print quality or a supplier that disappears after the deposit. The right questions, asked before you pay, expose most problems early. Here are 12 questions to ask any custom uniform or sportswear manufacturer, what a good answer looks like, and how Hameen Sports answers them.

12 questions to ask a uniform manufacturer

1. Do you make the products in your own facility?

Some “manufacturers” are trading companies that pass orders to other factories. That adds cost and makes quality harder to control. Our answer: we design, cut, decorate, sew and check every order in our own facility in Sialkot, Pakistan.

2. How long will my order take, and from when?

Ask whether the lead time is counted from mockup approval or from payment, and whether it includes shipping. Our answer: most orders are delivered within 2–3 weeks of the deposit payment, manufacturing and shipping included.

3. What is your minimum order?

Our answer: most products have no minimum. Our best per-piece prices start at 20 pieces, and smaller orders are welcome at a higher per-piece price.

4. What exactly is included in the price?

Check for extra charges for design, colors, names and numbers, and shipping. Our answer: the mockup and revisions are free, and standard tracked shipping is included. Customs duties and import taxes are paid by the buyer. See our price guide.

5. Will I see a mockup before production?

Our answer: yes. We send a digital mockup with free revisions, and production only starts after you approve it.

6. Can I order a sample first?

For brands and large orders, a sample is the best quality test. Our answer: yes, paid samples are available before bulk production.

7. How do you check quality?

Our answer: every order goes through fabric inspection, print checks, a stitching audit and a pre-ship inspection, and we can send QC photos or video before dispatch.

8. Which decoration methods do you offer?

The right method depends on the product. Our answer: sublimation, embroidery, tackle twill and screen printing. Socks are always knit-in, never printed. Compare them in our decoration methods guide.

9. What sizes and fits do you make?

Our answer: youth XS to adult 3XL, with women’s and unisex fits on many products, all in one order. Read our team uniform sizing guide.

10. Can you follow my league’s uniform rules?

Our answer: yes. Tell us your league and we will design to its rules. See our guides to NFHS wrestling, NFHS basketball and NFHS volleyball uniform rules.

11. Can you put my brand’s labels on the products?

Important for retailers and new brands. Our answer: yes. Our private label service includes your neck labels, hangtags and packaging.

12. How do I pay, and how is my payment protected?

Be wary of suppliers that ask for full payment up front in unusual ways. Our answer: you pay a deposit to start production, by bank wire (T/T) or Remitly.

Red flags to watch for

Compare quotes properly

When you compare manufacturers, compare like for like: the same products, fabric weights, decoration, quantity and delivery terms, including whether shipping is included. A slightly higher price with shipping included and a clear delivery date often costs less in the end.

How do I know if a sportswear manufacturer is legitimate?

Look for a real address, a registered business, mockups before payment, sample options, QC photos before dispatch and secure payment by bank transfer.
